Episode 29 - Under Pressure








Wendy and Sheila show off their finished podcast challenge projects for the final time and remind viewers to vote. Sheila has a lot of one night stands this week, but Wendy is worried about finishing her Rhinebeck sweater. Lots of baubles and bling as well!

Wendy is working on her Gwain by Alison Green Will in Dream in Color Classy in the Dusky aurora colorway.  She is using US 8 / 5 mm needles. She also has the Flower to Hexagon Blanket by Jessie Rayot using US D, or 3 hook and scrap sock yarn and sock skeins from Knitting Goddess.
Sheila is test knitting a shawl, RidgeLine, pattern for Lisa Beamer of 90 % Knitting, FiberNymph on Ravlery.  Sheila is using Patons Classic Wool Tweed on US 9 / 5.5 mm. Sheila also has the Heath Socks by Andrea Dietrich, on the needle using Plymouth Happy Feet in Olive colorway on US 1 1/2 / 2.5 mm.

Rate Your date:
Wendy showed off her Celtic Cabled Scarf again from the PPC, by Vanessa Lewis in Vintage Maine Maid Blueberry Tweed on US 9 / 5.5 mm.  She altered the pattern to make it shorter and added buttons.
Sheila finished the Cabled Hat by Amy Shannon with Dream in Color Blue Thunder on US 5 / 3.75mm and US 7 / 3.75 mm.  This is to go with the Pembroke Vest by Kirsten Kapur.  Sheila also finished the All hands on Deck top down mittens by Rachel from Dyeabolical yarns.  She used Cascade 220 on US 5 / 3.75 mm in a light blue.  Last but not least, she finished her Shetland Triangle Shawl by Evelyn Clark using Cascade Eco + in Forest Green Colorway on US 10 / 6 mm.
Future Dates:
Wendy is hoping to do the Hippocampus and or Selbuvott or Not by Torirot Designs.
Sheila is planning on casting on Howl Cat by Alexandra Tinsley with Dream in Color in Happy Forest..

Crushes and Heartbreaks:
Wendy is in love with her "Needle End T-Shirt" which can be found at Cafe Press.
Sheila is heartbreaking over the hours of work this week.

Baubles and Bling:
Wendy shares all her goodies, Madeline Tosh Sock in the Mansfield Garden colorway from the Salty Sheep in Swansboro, NC.  Malabrigo Rios in Lettuce colorway also from the Salty Sheep.  Crowbag and yarn singles form the Knitting Geisha's Etsy store.
Sheila shows off some goodies for her swap.  Patons Kroy Ragg Shade in Rag and some shrinky plastic that she hopes to make into stitch markers.

Episode 28B - Just Wendy

Flower to Hexagon Blanket by Jessie Rayot (free on Rav) in The Knitting Goddess mini skeins (sorry, accidentally referred to her as the Yarn Goddess). US size D/3 or 3.25mm crochet hook. I am loving this project!

Sheila has Pembroke Hat by Amy Shannon on US 5 / 3.75 mm and US 7 / 4.5 mm using the leftover Dream in Color Classy in the Blue Thunder color.  I am doing the cables from the back, because it is easier for me with out a cable.   I also have Shetland Triangle by Evelyn A. Clark with Cascade ECO + in a dark Forest Green color on US 10 / 6.0 mm.  Last I am working on the Top Down Mittens by Rachel of Dyebolical Yarn.  Using Cascade 220 in a baby blue on US 5 / 3.75 mm needles.  Great pattern go check it out, very versatile.

Diane Showed off two finish objects, Royal Tulips Shawl that she did using handspun from
Spirit Trail Fiberworks Cashmere Bombyx Silk 50/50 that she spun in to 2 ply.  Knit in US 4 / 3.5 mm
 colorway Fire, absolutley gorgeous and soft.  Diane's other finishe object is Tappan Zee Cardigan by Amy King, again a handspun Mad Color Fiber Arts (formerly Sereknity Yarn and Fiber) BFL Top that she spun up to a 3ply.  Knitted using US 6 / 4.0 mm.  Also a lovely sweater.
Sheila finished her Frank monster based on the Irving the Ice Box Monster by Rebecca Danger on US 3 / 3.25 mm needles with Knit Picks Comfy in various colors.  One Night Stand: Frankensteins Monster Cloth by Brian McGaunn on US 8 / 5.0 mm with Lily's Sugar and Cream cotton yarn.

Future Dates:
Sheila just wants to finish her projects and to cast on, finally, for the Heath Socks.
Diane doesn't have anything planned.  She has fallen in love with the Hexa Puffs by Tiny Owl Knits. (sorry I said it was little owl, it is Tiny Owl.)

Baubles and Bling:
Sheila shows off some The Sanguine Gryphon's Bugga which is 70% Superwash Merino, 20 % Cashmere, and 10 % Nylon in the Golden Orb Weaver colorway that I won from the Pagan Knitters Podcast.  She also received a sample of Sanguine Gryphon's Gaia Lace which is 40 % Cashmere and 60 % Silk.  Love it.
Diane shares her fiber from Southern Cross Fiber of the month club.  Gorgeous.

Crushes and Heartbreak:
Sheila still loves her Maytag dryer.  I am caught up on laundry, oh my.

Episode 27 - No Interruptions!




Wendy and Sheila bring you their latest project chat, including their Podcaster Challenge scarf and baby vest. Sheila offers a hand-knit and felted Christmas stocking as a give away, and Wendy shows off her sock yarn bling from Mad Color Fiber Arts.

Sheila is working on the Irving the Ice Box Monster from Rebecca Danger from the Big Book of Knitted Monsters.  She is using Knit Picks Comfy in worsted on US 3 / 3.25 mm.  Almost done and modified to look like Frankenstein (sort of.)  Also on the needles is Pembroke Vest by Kirsten Kapur in Dream in Color worsted in the Blue Lagoon colorway on US 5 / 3.75 mm and US 7 / 4.5 mm with a few mods.   Shetland Shawl by Evelyn A. Clark from the Wrap Style book in Cascade Eco + in the Shire colorway or Forest Green on US 10 / 6mm.  Last but certainly not least is All Hands on Deck, Top Down mittens by Rachael of Dyebolical Yarns in Cascade 220 baby blue on US 5 / 3.75.
Wendy has Gawain by Alison Green in Dream in Color Classy in the Dusky Aurora on US 8 / 5 mm needles, no love this week.  Also Celtic Cable by Vanessa Lewis in Vintage Maine Maid Blueberry Tweed on US 9 / 5.5 mm.  Her addiction has been the Flower to Hexagon Blanket by Jessie Rayot using just two colors per hexagon, using Knitting Goddess sock blanket skeins.

Sheila shows off her finished but not seamed Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman and a Christmas Stocking.

Future Dates:
Sheila is planning on finishing her monster, vest, and maybe the mittens.  Then she wants to cast on, finally, for Heath Socks.  Long term, after the Shetland Shawl, Colonnade by Stephen West.
Wendy has nothing.  Just hoping to finish Gawain.

Baubles and Bling:
Wendy has bought some Mad Color Fiber Arts sock options classica in Envy (420 yards 80 % super wash, 20 %  nylon)
Sheila has nothing.
Crushes and Heartbreaks:
Wendy has a heartbreak, her curtain project has stalled due to rusty water in the iron and her sewing machine broke.  She would love suggestions on a machine under $200 that is reliable.
Sheila wants to put a great big shout out to Lois of Knitting's My Bag for all that she has done in the Plurk Podcaster's Challenge.  She has put her heart and soul into this and does not deserve criticism.  Sheila also has been loving nail art videos on YouTube.

Future Dates:
Wendy is going to be working on a sock scrap blanket Hexasock, and she like several blankets that are crocheted.   Her favorite is the Flower Hexagon Blanket by Jessie Ryot.
Sheila is going to cast on for the Shetland Shawl by Evelyn Clark, and then the Heath socks.

Wendy is happy that the kids are back in school, unfortunately they are here with us now.
