Episode 19 - Full of Surprises!


Sheila and Wendy get a surprise package from Becky of the Addicted to Yarn podcast, and Sheila finally reveals her secret knitting. The usual project chat, including the finished Big Herringbone Cowl and Sheila's preemie hat pattern. Bonus Six Flags rollercoaster picture!

On The Dance Card:
Sheila is still working on Saroyan by Liz Abinante on US 6/ 4 mm with Malabrigo lace held double in Fuscia colorway. She is working on Owling hat using the pattern by Kerri James with Cascade 220 Superwash in the Mystic Purple colorway on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles.  She also is working on Flutter-By socks by Shannon Rbalino on US 1.5 / 2.5 mm needles in Serendipitous Ewe Fate fingering self Striping sock yarn.  She also has Iris Mystery Shawl on my needles by Natasha Vogele in Wollpapst SockenWolle US 6 / 4 needles.  Last but not least working on Dishcloths for Zman teachers from the Grandmothers Diagonal on US 8 / 5. mm needels by Ruth from Big Springs TX.
Wendy has the Rock Island shawl by Jared Flood in Ivy Brambles Romantica on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles.  She has the Iris Mystery Shawl on the needles as well, using Enchanted Knoll Farms superwash sock yarn in the Treasure Chest color on US 6 / 4mm needles.  Wendy is also working on Owlings fingerless mitts by Kerri James in Cascade 220 Mystic Purple.

Rate Your Date:
Sheila shares her secret knitting of a Heart by Kristin Ledgett from Knitty.com on US 5 / 3.75 mm needles out of Cascade 220.  Sheila also finished her Preemie Hat that she designed and will get the pattern up soon.  She also has another Dishcloth done as well.  Using her usual pattern.
Wendy has her Big Herringbone Cowl by Purl Soho in Malabrigo worsted in the Sealing Wax Color.

Future Dates:
Sheila wants to finish the Iris Mystery Shawl, work on her Saroyan and finish the Owl hat.
Wendy is planning on the Podcaster Challange by KnittingsMyBag which starts in September and she is planning on knitting swatches for her Gwain Sweater by Alison Green Will.

Crushes and Heartbreaks:
We both are crushing over LynnZimm's Denver Oyster Run a Charity race for the Colorado Make a Wish orginazation, for Life Threatening medical conditons. Lynn, has raised $4000 so far.  She would like to reach $5000 to grant a wish.  Luara Linneman created the My Wish pattern and if you purchase it for $5.00 all proceeds will go to LynnZimms cause.   LynnZimm is having a prizes for donanting to her cause.  Every $10 will receive 1 entry for a list of prizes on her blog Knitting Triathlete.  Wendy is donating a pattern from Ravelry up to $10.00 and I am donating a skein of 80/20 Wollmeise in Aquarias.  Wendy also got discharged from her cardiologist.  She is very excited.
Baubles and Bling:
Sheila orders some lovely yarn from the Fibernymph AKA Lisa from 90% Knitting, in the Sunburned Zebra Colorway in her Bounce base.
We also share a package that Wendy received from Becky of the Addicted To Yarn Podcast.  She is so sweet.
Gossip and Innuendo:
We had a great time at Six Flags New England.  Sheila did not enjoy Bizaro roller coaster.

OMG, i thought i would die laughing about your experience on the roller coaster. I love roller coasters and no one in my family can stand to think about going on them. You had me in tears i was laughing so hard. Too funny.

Poor Sheila OMG but I laughed at the pic! I love roller coasters too but I think I would feel the same if there was nothing to hold on to.
