Episode 21B - Supersize Me, Part Deux

Show Notes:

Sparkpeople shout outs: Welcome to MsArobix to my friends list.

On Then Dance Card:
Sheila has the Maile baby sweater by Nikki Van De Car on mystery worsted weight yarn on US 6 / 4. mm and US 7 / 4.5 mm.  She is making a toddler version and using modifications.  She also has the Flutter-by Socks by Shannon Robalino on US 1 1/2 / 2.25 mm with Serendipitous Ewe Fingering Fate sock yarn.  Sheila also has a Cable hat, Cascading Cables by Hannah Campbell in Cascade 220 with US 5 / 3.75mm and US 7 / 4.5 mm.  She also showed off a crocheted solid granny square that she keeps by her couch.
Wendy has her Swirl Shawl by Lijuan Jing on US 6 / 4mm in Jojoland Melody super wash, this has been sitting in her pile for 3 years. (I thought I was bad, but she beats me.)  This is a long term project.  She also did her swatch for Gawain by Alison Green using Dream in Color Classy in the Dusky Aurora.  She cast on for her mom, To Eyre by Carol Sunday in Arauncania Nature Wool in a nice red on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles.  There are several versions of the shawl in the pattern and she is doing version 2.

Rate Your Date:
Sheila had a banner week for finished objects.  She finished the Iris Mystery shawl by Natascha Vogele in Wollpapst Sockenwolle on US 6 / 4.0 mm needles.  Loved the pattern, would do it again, great for breaking up variegated yarns.  She also finished her Owl hat based on the Owlings pattern by Kerrie James on US 7 / 4.5 in Cascade 220 Super wash in the Mystic Purple colorway.  Loved this pattern and the yarn is squishy.  Last but certainly not least is her Saroyan is off the needles.  The Saroyan is by Liz Abinante on US 6 / 4.0 mm in Malabrigo Lace, held double.  Wonderful pattern, got tired of it and glad that it is done.
Wendy finished her Rock Island Shawl by Jared Flood in Ivy Brambles Romantica from The Yarn and Fiber Company on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles.  Glad it was done the edge was long and tedious. She did love the Rock Island Lace section.

Future Dates:
Sheila is planning on doing the Heath Socks by Andrea Dretrich in Plymouth Yarn, Happy Feet in a nice olive colorway for a man.
Wendy is planning on Lois's, KnittingsMyBag podcaster challenge, that starts soon.  We get the pattern on August 22nd and can share it the week after with you.

Crushes and Heartbreaks:
We are still trying to push the Denver Oyster Make-A-Wish charity that LynnZimm from Knitting Triathlete blog is doing.  She has raised over 5k and is able to grant a wish.  Go check out her blog it is for a great cause. Sheila donated a skein of Wollmeise in the Aquarius colorway and Wendy donated a pattern up to $10 from Ravelry.

Baubles and Bling:

Wendy has nothing.
