Episode 22 - Badly Lit

Welcome to the Very Badly Lit episode! The usual project chat, a little trash talking for the Podcasters' Challenge, and the debut of a preemie cap designed by Sheila which will be out for test knitting some time this week.

Show Notes:

Sparkpeople Shout outs to: MeganMMe and SummerieDay

On The Dance Card:
Wendy has her Swirl Shawl by Lijuan Jing on US 6 / 4mm in Jojoland Melody super wash, this has been sitting in her pile for 3 years. (I thought I was bad, but she beats me.)  This is a long term project.  She also did her swatch for Gawain by Alison Green using Dream in Color Classy in the Dusky Aurora.  She cast on for her mom, To Eyre by Carol Sunday in Arauncania Nature Wool in a nice red on US 7 / 4.5 mm needles.  There are several versions of the shawl in the pattern and she is doing version 2.
Sheila has the Maile baby sweater by Nikki Van De Car on mystery worsted weight yarn on US 6 / 4. mm and US 7 / 4.5 mm.  She is making a toddler version and using modifications.  She also has the Flutter-by Socks by Shannon Robalino on US 1 1/2 / 2.25 mm with Serendipitous Ewe Fingering Fate sock yarn.
Rate Your Date:
Wendy has finished a tech edit of Preciouis Preemie Hat by Sheila using Ella Rae Sock on US 2.
Sheila finished  Cascading Cables by Hannah Campbell in Cascade 220 with US 5 / 3.75mm and US 7 / 4.5 mm.  I had a lot of trouble with the ribbing as written in the pattern.
Future Dates:
Wendy  is planning on Lois's, KnittingsMyBag podcaster challenge, that starts soon.  We get the pattern on August 22nd and can share it the week after with you.  Check out our thread.
Sheila  planning on doing the Heath Socks by Andrea Dretrich in Plymouth Yarn, Happy Feet in a nice olive colorway for a man.  I also want to cast on for The Cause Hat by Kyle Kunneke but I would use green yarn for the ribbons instead for Organ Donation.
Crushes and Heartbreaks:
We are still trying to push the Denver Oyster Make-A-Wish charity that LynnZimm from Knitting Triathlete blog is doing.  She has raised over 5k and is able to grant a wish.  Go check out her blog it is for a great cause. Sheila donated a skein of Wollmeise in the Aquarius colorway and Wendy donated a pattern up to $10 from Ravelry
Baubles and Bling:
Wendy shares all her goodies from China and gives Sheila some handmade stich markers to me.
Sheila has nothing.
Gossip and Innuendo:
Wendy shares the Fiber Revival at the Spencer Pierce Little Farm in Newbury MA.  It is on August 13 9am to 4 pm.
