Very little project action happening here. Sheila is still working on her wonderful Wallaby and Wendy is having trouble getting into the rhythm of her Crooked Walking Path Shawl. Baubles and Bling this week include fiber and some pottery from MA Sheep and Wool, as well as the awesome birthday presents from Sheila!
KAL/CAL: Lace Theme. Post a picture of your finished items for babies or kids in the thread in our group between now and July 31. Rules and additional information are HERE.
On The Dance Card:
Sheila is working on:
Wonderful Wallaby by Carol A. Anderson in a toddler size. She is using a Knit Picks yarn, but is not certain which base it is.
Wendy is working on:
Vortex Throw by Lisa Gentry in Lion Brand Wool-Ease on a USH/5mm hook. Will be gifted to our friend who was injured in the Boston Marathon bombing. It is STILL not finished.
Crooked Walking Shawl by Anne Hanson in Nightingale Fibers Martha base (Baby Alpaca/Silk) in the Grey Sky colorway. It is a sport weight, but I think it will work okay with this pattern. I am doing the medium shawl.
Rate Your Date:
Nothing this week.
Whirlwind Romance:
Wendy is STILL spinning:
Dyeabolical Yarns Portuguese Merino in the Flower Shop Inferno color way.
Future Dates:
Wendy plans on knitting:
Seashell Shawl by Ivy Brambles Yarn in Blue Moon Fiber Arts Silk Thread II.
Hiro Sweater by Julia Farwell-Clay in Valley Yarns Berkshire
Baby Rubber Duck Shoes by Christine Grant in Lion Brand Baby Soft yarn.
Sheila plans on knitting:
Clapotis
A dishcloth of her own design with a button strap.
A baby blanket of her own design.
Baubles & Bling:
Spunky Eclectic Yak/Silk blend in the Dijon color way
Spinner's Hill Wool, Silk blend in a green multi color way
Spinner's Hill pottery mug (not sure who made it)
Sheila bought Wendy a gnome-in-a-jar necklace and a gnome bamboo iPhone cover! I don't have links because they were gifts, but you can find the necklace on Etsy and the phone cover on Amazon.
Life is Good Cinch Sack for walking.
Gossip & Innuendo:
Wendy will be attending Fiber Frolic in Maine on 6/1/13.
We drew three prize winners today! Watch the show for the announcements and contact Wendy (pennywenny on Ravelry) with your name and address if you won a yarn prize!
